They are mainly categorized as Consumer (Passenger Car/ SUV /Minibus) and Commercial (Truck/ Bus/ Light Truck). Consumer tires are further categorized based on usage like All Season, Mud, Snow etc. while Commercial tyres based on application like Highway, Regional & Urban. For safety Consumer tires are governed by various safety certifications laid down by respective countries, unions like DOT by US, E-mark laid by European Union, GSO for Gulf Standard etc.
